Identity theft is an act of stealing an individual’s identity
- with an intention to defraud, or
- without the authorization of the concerned person to obtain some benefits.
Identity theft often includes unauthorized use of an individual’s identification information like
- the name,
- driver’s license,
- banking pins,
- biometrics and more.
The laws:
Missouri identity theft laws are placed under the penal code section Mo. Rev. Stat. §570.223 (1999).
According to the rules, penalties imposed for this criminal offense,
which in general, are as follows.
1st offense
Jail for 6 months.
