Missouri identity theft laws are placed under the penal code section Mo. Rev. Stat. §570.223 (1999).

According to the rules, penalties imposed for this criminal offense,

which in general, are as follows.

1st offense

Jail for 6 months.

 

2nd offense

Imprisonment for a year.

 

3rd or subsequent offense

Jail up to 5 years and restitution to the victim
