The Mississippi Consumer Protection Act (MCPA) prohibits the use of unfair and deceptive business practices for trade and commerce.

  • According to laws, passing of goods or services under a false presentation of source, certification or sponsorship is illegal.
  • Misrepresenting the contents, ingredients, quantities or characteristics are also unlawful and prone to be penalized under the law.
  • Advertising of goods without an intention to produce them for sale is also prohibited under the Act.
  • The Attorney General’s Office is given the authority to monitor unfair practices and violations of the Act and to bring the guilt to justice.
