The Connecticut Consumer Law is set up to provide a safe market place for consumers where fair trade practices are adopted by traders for supply and provision of ideal goods and services.
- The law aims to protect consumers being unfairly tormented by credit card companies and debt management companies for obtaining return of debts advanced.
- Information on applying for bankruptcy, rights during debt collection, obtaining fee waiver of court fees, etc. are also dealt under the law.
- The law also facilitates resolving of identity theft transactions by providing quick remedies for consumers whose personal information has been compromised for fictitious transactions of credit cards, rental agreements, etc.
