
The Pennsylvania Attorney Bureau of Consumer Protection protects the citizens from telemarketing scams, deceptive trade practices, misleading advertising, and other scrupulous trade practices.
- The Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law make the passing of goods or services with misleading certification, sponsorship, or wrong source of origin as unlawful.
- Representing deteriorated, reconditioned, altered or secondhand goods as new and firsthand are illegal and traders following such practices will be penalized under the Act.
- Issuing misleading or deceptive discount offers or price reductions for sale of goods are also regarded as deceptive acts or unfair methods of competition under the Act.
