HomeConsumer Law New JerseyNew Jersey Consumer Laws

The New Jersey Consumer Protection Laws are devised to protect consumers and to give them rights for fair trade and commerce.

  • The state laws mandatorily require every merchant engaged in trade to affix the goods with their selling prices in the form of stamps, label, signages, tags, etc.
  • Every merchant is also required to publicly display his refund policy in minimum three locations that include the item, point of sale and at the shop entrance or other location which it is clearly visible.
  • The laws also forbid sellers from selling goods at prices that do not match with the label prices of the goods.
