The New Jersey Consumer Protection Laws were devised to protect consumers and give them rights for fair trade and commerce.

  • The state laws mandatorily require every merchant engaged in trade to affix the goods with their selling prices in the form of stamps, labels, signages, tags, etc.
  • Every merchant is also required to publicly display his refund policy in a minimum of three locations: the item, point of sale, and at the shop entrance or other place visible.
  • The laws also forbid sellers from selling goods at prices that do not match the label prices of the products.
