- The Act prevents the sale of second hand, materially altered or goods of degraded quality as new or first hand to consumers.
- Misrepresentation of characteristics, quality, contents, ingredients, etc. is also forbidden under the law.
- Selling of gift certificates of values less than $100 is unlawful under the Act.
- The cooling off period of three days is available whereby consumers have the right to cancel the sale and to receive return of deposit or money paid.
