The Alabama Child Support laws Guidelines lays out various formalities to be carried out by divorced parents
in relation to share the custody and expense of the child.
They are:
- The courts of Alabama adopt the “Income shares model,”
- The guidelines specify that the liability of the child’s expense would apportion to the divorced parents in the proportion of their income earnings.
- The spouse with the more significant income will charge for a higher quantum of child support,
- For arriving at each spouse’s share, the total expense of a child’s maintenance, as is in an ideal family, would be considered.
