Colorado Child Support Laws

HomeChild Support ColoradoColorado Child Support Laws

The Colorado Child Support guidelines determine the child support amount based on the combined income of the parents computed using the incomes share model.

  • Under the income shares model, the minor child will continue to receive the same amount of monetary allowances as if they – the parents were living together.
  • The net income will be determined after deducting such expenses as allowed by the state law from time to time.
  • The custody will continue until the child attains the age of nineteen or graduates from high school, whichever is later.
  • However, none of the parents can be forced by law to cover the child’s education expenses.
