The Colorado Child Support guidelines determine the child support amount based on the combined income of the parents computed using the incomes share model.
- Under the income shares model, the minor child will continue to receive the same amount of monetary allowances as if they – the parents were living together.
- The net income will be determined after deducting such expenses as allowed by the state law from time to time.
- The custody will continue until the child attains the age of nineteen or graduates from high school, whichever is later.
- However, none of the parents can be forced by law to cover the child’s education expenses.
