DUI/DWI means driving a vehicle under the influence of, or while intoxicated with drugs and alcohol in such a way that they can impair the mental and the physical condition of the individual. The Nebraska state law imposes extremely harsh penalties on the drivers convicted of DUI/DWI.
The statutes surrounding the drunk driving include the following:
- The Implied Consent law: where an individual driving a vehicle can be subjected to any kind of chemical test to check the BAC levels whiich should ideally be 0.08% in adults, 0.02% in the minors and 0.04% for commercial drivers.
- Any kind of refusal regarding the test can lead to suspension of the driver license and more harsh punishments like a monetary compensation or imprisonment.
