Types of Spousal Support

Spousal support to reduce the financial burden on a spouse is of three different types in Iowa.

They include:

  • Traditional Alimony:  It is paid for an indefinite period.
  • Rehabilitative alimony: It can be definite or is extended depending on the spouse needs.
  • Reimbursement alimony: It is predicated upon the economic sacrifices of the spouse during marriage.
