
Massachusetts Consumer Laws cover various consumer issues that arise during
debt collection, repossession, advertising, telemarketing, purchases and returns, etc.
- The Massachusetts Do Not Call Registry,
Section 12.02 General Telephone Solicitations Regulations forbids telephone solicitors from making calls to the consumer during 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM of local time.
- Section 18.15 of code of conduct of debt collectors and loan servicers; forbid abuse, threat or violence for affecting the recovery of debts.
- Debt collection agencies are also forbidden from advertising of debts for inducing the repayment.
- Further, visiting the place of work of the consumer unless requested by him is also unlawful under the Law.
