Massachusetts Consumer Laws cover various consumer issues during

debt collection, repossession, advertising, telemarketing, purchases, returns, etc.

Section 12.02 General Telephone Solicitations Regulations forbids telephone solicitors from making calls to the consumer from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM of local time.

  • Section 18.15 of the code of conduct of debt collectors and loan servicers; forbid abuse, threat, or violence from affecting the recovery of debts.
  • Debt collection agencies are also forbidden from advertising debts for inducing the repayment.
  • Further, visiting the consumer’s place of work unless requested by him is also unlawful under the Law.
