Massachusetts Consumer Laws cover various consumer issues that arise during

debt collection, repossession, advertising, telemarketing, purchases and returns, etc.

Section 12.02 General Telephone Solicitations Regulations forbids telephone solicitors from making calls to the consumer during 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM of local time.

  • Section 18.15 of code of conduct of debt collectors and loan servicers; forbid abuse, threat or violence for affecting the recovery of debts.
  • Debt collection agencies are also forbidden from advertising of debts for inducing the repayment.
  • Further, visiting the place of work of the consumer unless requested by him is also unlawful under the Law.
